From March 21st until April 4th 2010 Achim Bornhoeft will be on concert tour in Vietnam (Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi, in the scope of the Festival "Cracking Bamboo") and Indonesia (Bandung).

His new work
Exquilibrium (2010) for flute, piano and percussion
will be premiered by Ensemble Intégrales on March 3rd 2010 at Hamburgische Staatsoper.

At the moment he's working on a piece entitled
laminar flow (2010) for flute, bassclarinet, electric guitar, piano, violin, violoncello and electronics
which will be premiered on May 3rd 2010 at klangspuren plus of Münchner Biennale.
Also his electronic piece purifications (2006) for stereo-tape will be played, and he will perform Electric Counterpoint by Steve Reich on electric guitar.
The electronics for laminar flow and Electric Counterpoint will be produced at the ZKM|Institut für Musik und Akustik.

Achim Bornhoeft is working on a new piece for orchestra commissioned by the hr-Sinfonieorchester, Frankfurt which will be premiered in January 2011. He also is asked to write a piece for the 25th anniversary of the Ensemble Aventure, Freiburg in 2011.

Matthias Ockert
Matthias Ockert joins sumtone. Matthias is a composer and jazz guitar player, who writes for electronics, traditional instruments, jazz and experimental video. As well as being a former composition student of Wolfgang Rihm, he studied jazz guitar in New York with Bill Connors and Attila Zoller.

Michael Edwards is at GRIM Marseille recording a new DVD-Audio album of improvisation for release on the sumtone label. Playing on the album will be Michael (saxophones, computer), Karin Schistek (piano, synthesiser), Paul Elwood (banjo), and Jean Marc Montera (guitars). Release date will be November 2008 (watch this space).

Michael Edwards is performing and giving workshops at this year's Montreux Jazz Festival with Christophe Fellay and Sarah Nicolls. Michael will be improvising with his custom-designed soft/hardware computer system for live-sampling, processing, and diffusing sound in real-time.
